On Friday September 27, students at Henderson Avenue Public School will once again be taking part in the annual Terry Fox School Run.
Our school is proud to play an important role in keeping the legacy of Terry Fox alive. Students will have the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the heroic efforts of Terry over the next few days as well as raise much-needed funds for cancer research. Through our participation in the Terry Fox School Run, we hope to encourage leadership in our students and create positive agents of change in our wonderful school community.
The run/walk will happen after morning recess. Students will follow a marked out route that will be supervised by staff.
Pledge envelopes are being sent home Sept 20 with every student. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated and donations of $20.00 or more listed on a Terry Fox pledge sheet (with full donor name and address) are automatically receipted. Cheques should be made payable to The Terry Fox Foundation. Another quick and easy way to support The Terry Fox Foundation is by donating online. Simply click: http://www.terryfox.ca/HendersonAvenuePSThornhill. This will take you directly to our school fundraising page on the Terry Fox Foundation website. For those students not collecting pledges, we ask that a $2 (toonie for Terry) donation be made. Please return any pledge forms and all monies by Friday September 27 to your child’s homeroom teacher . Our goal is to reach $3000 in donations at Henderson Ave P.S.
We hope you will join us as our school community comes together in the fight against cancer. Thank you in advance for your support!
